whew, it's been a while

top: {target}, jacket: {old navy}, necklace: {handmade}

well that was a long break. i'm not even exactly sure what it was due to. maybe it was the sickness i received this weekend {no people, i took a test i'm not with child}, maybe it was the 101+ projects i have to complete, maybe it was a new big item i'm working on {cliff hanger right?}...anywho, it was a long break that i will try not to do again in the future. i mean my followers and paparazzi need me right?

sunday morning conversation

top {aeropostale}; skirt {thrifted liz claiborne}; belt {forever21}; tie belt {thrifted christian dior}; shoes {thrifted target}

past sunday pre church convo:

me: "hunny, i'm dressed"
husband: "is that my tie?"
me: "uh huh {very proud of myself}, i was inspired by this blog"
husband: "oh geez"
me: "you love it???"
husband: "i love you..."
me: "you know one of the best things about being married? your wardrobe expands. ok well my wardrobe expands. not yours, i'd prefer you not wearing my wardrobe. but i can wear yours cause menswear is big right now!"
husband: "yeeeaaaa i don't know about letting you on my side anymore"
me: "but look how resourceful i am!" {i say as i'm walking out the room...}
and you know what, this conversation isn't even out of the norm
and yes ladies and gentleman {are there gentleman reading this? if so give a shout out!} not one but two pieces of this outfit were a whopping $1: that christian dior red polka dot tie {correct christian dior} and the ruffled perfect heels

slightly sad day

yesterday was a slightly sad day
1. i was forced to study all day inside without even the idea of leaving... "sit down caitlyn, don't even think about it!" and yes i did dress up just to sit at home. i mean i need some sort of creative outlet during my "stay at home" days! and nothing is cooler than wearing a big chunky necklace while talking to yourself out loud for memorizing.

2. hubby had to stay late at work because he forgot his id and had to turn around. someone please find our memory, we have each seemed to misplace it and can't remember where we left them!

3. and this is the saddest, my 6 dollar aeropostale white crop jeans zipper broke off the track. that's right, broke the track and came right off! now the real question is was it the dryer or my oh so handsome remington pup? not my angel huh?...hmmmm
but on the plus side...the belt and necklace of this outfit were purchased at garage sales! yep impressed aren't you?

poor pants...sewing in my future. unless i can start a new trend? keeping flies open. oh that might present serious future problems. hmm rethink!

hubby's shirt {french connection via tj maxx}, belt and necklace {thrifted}, shoes {kimchi blue via plato's closet}, pants {aeropostale'}, bracelets {variety of places}

reality slaps hard

shirt, necklace, and belt:f21; shorts: old navy; shoes: shoe carnival
we just got back from the beach and into reality. why can't everyday be on the beach? i really don't think i'd get tired of it. hmmm that's a thought....maybe in the future it can be. for now though i will enjoy the weekend trips, especially when we can share it with great friends and wonderful food! no seriously, we cooked everyday and we had the best food. us louisianians can cook...we may not have the best white sugary sandy beaches {ahhh} but we can cook well!

i dare you....

dear patient i just did a nutrition counseling session with for an hour,

we had a great time chatting about ways to eat healthier, what a great protein source greek yogurt is and how you can slice and freeze your strawberries to use as "ice" in your smoothies. as we chatted this morning, i couldn't help but be a little excited when you expressed your joy in some great ideas i was offering. i was feeling eager and established as i offered you ideas on how to maintain the healthy lifestyle you are so diligently on track with. but as i was sitting there this morning i couldn't help but notice the attire i had thrown on today. in a rush {as always} this morning i threw on my go to black scrubs, twirled my hair a little to make that "o so caitlyn" twisted ponytail, made sure my make up was somewhat on, and grabbed my tennis shoes. i am now reflecting on this morning wardrobe rush because as i shared with you food options, i found myself happy, proud, and confident until....i looked down at those shoes i threw on and thought "how is she taking me seriously with my name stitched on my shoes." i would have offered you a little background on the shoes, but i thought that might not have been relevant to your session. but if i could have...i would have told you that these shoes were given to me by my amazing brother and sister during my freshman year of college. i would have expressed to you how much i "oooo-ed" and "ahhhh-ed" when i finally received them after designing them. i would have enlightened you on how appreciative i was for them and how much i rocked them! i would have told you that i do currently own another pair of tennis shoes, yet they went missing amidst the daily shuffle of life. and i would have also informed you that i too think it's time for new ones! i too think that as i step into my career it should be done with new nike's...some that lack that certain style of the "caitlyn" stitching. some that say, "while i am younger, i am still knowledgeable and serious, stylish yet professional." i would also have told you that i will have to wait to purchase these new and improved shoes when i do get paid for this counseling. so as i sit here and reflect for now i pose a challenge to you dear patient. for now i dare you to take me seriously in my caitlyn signed shoes...or maybe even better, lovely patient, you don't even notice my shoes and only notice the intelligence i exude. a girl can dream!
